What is Wegovy® pill?
Novo Nordisk’s new oral GLP-1, Wegovy® pill, is a once-daily pill offering comparable weight-loss results (an average of 13.6% of your body weight) to injectable Wegovy.^
^Eligible patients lost an average of 13.6% of their body weight (-31.3 lbs) in a 64-week clinical trial evaluating 25 mg oral semaglutide compared to those on 2.4 mg injectable semaglutide who lost an average of 14.9% of their body weight (-33.6 lbs) in a 68-week clinical trial. Both were paired with diet and exercise.
How does Wegovy® pill work?
Wegovy® pill is a GLP-1, which the body naturally produces to regulate insulin and control blood sugar. It also works in the brain to curb food noise, and in the gut to slow stomach emptying.
Those taking a GLP-1 may feel less hungry, have fewer cravings and thoughts of food, and feel more full after a meal and between meals. A GLP-1 can even support better blood glucose stability.
Is it covered by insurance?
If your Weight Watchers Med+ Clinician determines you qualify for Wegovy Pill and it’s prescribed, our Clinic Care Team will work with your insurance to maximize your coverage.
